Sustainability Knowledge Group now has a licence to use the AA1000 Assurance Standard Marking in relation to its sustainability assurance services. This license allows the company to conduct external assurance, following the global principles Materiality, Completeness and Responsiveness of the AA1000 Assurance Standard, of sustainability reporting under any major framework including Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), UN Global Compact and ISO26000.
The AA1000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS) was launched in 2003 as the world’s first sustainability assurance standard and it is now one of the three standards in the AccountAbility’s AA1000 series. The first one, the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles Standard (AA1000APS), provides a framework for an organisation to identify, prioritise and respond to its sustainability challenges. Moreover, the AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (AA1000SES) provides a framework to help organisations ensure stakeholder engagement processes are purpose driven, robust and deliver results.
The AA1000 standards are used by a broad spectrum of organisations from multinational businesses, small and medium enterprises to governments and civil societies.
